Malus' law in X-ray Calculator
Posted by Dinesh onOnline Malus' law calculator to calculate intensity of the transmitted wave by using Malus' equation.
Malus' law which is named after Étienne-Louis Malus, says that when a perfect polarizer is placed in a polarized beam of light, the intensity, I, of the light that passes through is given by I = I0 cos²θi
Malus' Equation in X-ray Calculation
Formula:
where,
I0 - Intensity of the polarized wave before passing through the filter
f - frequency of the radiation passes through polarizer,
f0 - frequency of the polarized radiation falling on the polarizer,
λ - Compton wavelength of electron,
c - speed of light in vacuum (299792458 m/s),
θi - Angle between the light's initial polarization direction and the axis of the filter,
I - Intensity of the transmitted wave
